CECI EST MON CORPS

2021, Peaux Pierres Series, Mixed media, 60x90 CM (each)

Naomi Lulendo, is an island, her skin is the sand, the sea is her story. The artist proposes here an autobiographical narrative of her travels between Guadeloupe, Senegal and France. It is through the material and the play of texture, clay, sand, volcanic earth, straw, Caen stone and lime, that it tells herself. The matters are the agents of the constitution of her body in movement. "Ceci Est Mon Corps" is at the same time a series of portraits of earth, a geological and poetic and poetic survey of the (de)composition of the body/matter.

Text by Ariane Leblanc and Sandrine Honliasso for the exhibition "D'ailleurs, je viens d'ici" at the Comédie de Caen. With Jean-François Boclé, Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, Clémence Delbart, Nicolas Pirus, Euridice Zaituna Kala.
